If you’ve never heard of Xentrix, you could be forgiven. They’re an 80s era thrash metal band from Europe that sound a lot like Metallica or Megadeth. Their 80’s output was brief, and mostly good, but they’ve resurfaced with a new album, Bury the Pain, which is probably the best music they’ve ever made.
The sound is still 80’s thrash metal, but with a lot more polish and musicianship. Oddly enough, the album sounds more influenced by Under the Blade era Twisted Sister than Metallica, but that’s a good thing. A couple tracks really hit hard. Bleeding Out, in particular, feels like it came right out of a best of Headbanger’s Ball episode.
If you’re a metal head, definitely worth a listen.
